Over his ten year tenure as the Rabbi of the only Orthodox Synagogue in the state of Nebraska Rabbi Gross had a variety of interesting experiences, from preparing Jewish kids for their Bar Mitzvahs to providing kosher meals for a Muslim inmate in the state prison, that can only happen to a Rabbi in a small Jewish community. Rabbi in the Middle of America is not a Rabbi memoir. It is a collection of observations, trends, themes, and ideas about Judaism, community, culture, and life.
