With each passing year sailing is getting more popularity as a way of recreation among amateurs. This research is aimed on investigating the current situation of the sailing tourism market, in particular, from the perspective of the Russian consumer. The main findings describe personality of the amateur sailor, his preferences and directions that could be improved and developed in the field of sailing tourism.
