The organic micropollutants include: polychlorinated dibenzodioxyns PCDD, polychlorinated dibenzofurans PCDF, polychlorinated biphenyls PCB, selected plants protection products (pesticides, insecticides), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons PAH and endocrine disruption compounds EDC (pharmaceutics, flame retardants FRs, personal care products PCP). First the properties of and their persistence in the environment were studied. Then the methodology of micropollutants determination in water and in wastewater with respect to their diversity and multi-steps of analytical procedure were included. Based of the literature data the possibilities of removal of organic micropollutants in physical and chemical processes were presented. The literatue data were completed of own or co-authors results of investigations that were carried out with respect to determination and fates of micropollutants (especially PAHs) in physical and chemical processes. Among abiotic processes the following methods were taken into account: the advanced oxidation, photodegradation, sorption as well as membrane filtration methods.
