Research studies have shown that the caregivers of loved ones diagnosed with terminal illness face an emotionally and psychologically distressing situation. The support of these caregivers must be a concern and topic of interest for medical professionals working toward the ease and comfort of these patients, though in the past this has not been regarded as an important issue. While a majority of participants concluded that caring for the terminally ill loved one in their home created a stronger bond, these caregivers still faced a number of serious stressors in caring for loved ones at this sad and traumatic time.Darlene B.
