Seeding is the Juvenile stage of a plant after germination. The seedling is used for Woody plants from the beginning of germination up to a stage where it is 29 to 50 cm high. Study of Seedling offers many characters useful for taxonomic classification and for morphological and evolutionary considerations. The seedling knowledge is significant in taxonomy and ecology. Considerable work has been done on the seedlings of herbs, mainly weeds, as it helps in discriminating weeds from the cultivated plants .In forestry the knowledge of seedlings of wild species is of vital importance, especially in the tropics, because of the highly mixed composition of the rain forest. It is of prime importance to be able to identify seedlings of various species forming the ground cover of the forest. This book helps the students to know the morphology and the anatomical studies of the plants. This Book may prove valuable and useful for scientists, researches, pharmacists etc.

Dr. Mayuri Rathod is Assistant Professor in Biotechnology Course at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, Gujarat. She completed her graduation in 1993 with Botany. She has been awarded M.Phil in 1998, Ph.D. in 2007 in Biosciences-Plant Science. She has also completed her M.Ed. in 2000 and awarded Ph.D. in 2012 in Education.
