At the same time, the very cheapness of the materials was one element in encouraging the industrialized nations to indulge in careless and extravagant use of the imported materials. Nothing could illustrate more clearly the degree to which the world market system which has continuously operated to increase the power and wealth of the rich and maintain the relative deprivation of the poor is rooted not in unchangeable physical circumstance but in political relationships. - EDMOND CAHN, CONFRONTING INJUSTICE: It amounted to mere shift on words "Did the accused PUBLISH this libel?" Although the Amendment say precisely that "Congress shall make no law" in these fields the "ink-readicators" claim that it means something quite different. It may seem odd that affluence should undermine privacy. Consider the problem of launching and moving goods in today´s superabundant economy. A growth in population and a growth in temptation in a nation increasingly swollen with material goods could help to account for much of the increase in crime. Our Urban living has played a part in making citizens more fearful of being beset by criminals.
