City Hall
When Basel joined the Swiss Confederation in 1501, the council had this prestigious building constructed. Originally erected between 1504 and 1514, the city hall was repeatedly expanded until 1904. Preserving the uniform appearance of the building was a matter of utmost importance. Even today, Basel´s politicians sit within these historical walls and make far-reaching decisions for their city.
