Amitai Etzioni is Professor of International Affairs at The George Washington University, USA. He previously served as a Senior Advisor to the Carter White House; taught at Columbia University, Harvard University, and the University of California at Berkeley, USA; and served as the President of the American Sociological Association. In 2001, he was named among the top 100 American intellectuals as measured by academic citations in Richard Posner´s book, Public Intellectuals (2002).
