They went back to the city gates, and the little man took their green glasses. Which road will take us to the Wicked Witch of the West? asked Dorothy. There is no road, said the man. Walk towards the evening sun. Shell know that you are coming. The friends walked through fields of soft grass, then over hills where the grass was rougher. There were no trees now, and no farms or houses. At night, Dorothy and Toto and the lion lay down on the grass to sleep, and the scarecrow and the tin man watched.
