This book targets social and health sectors, namely academic institutions, training institutions, VET professionals, scholars of the subject as well as practitioners, public services and decision makers. The aim of this book is to report learning approaches tested in the ICT Project (from planning to process evaluation) and to trace a solid theoretical basis, while also offering a scientific pathway to the academic conversation. The book is important since the training needs for caregivers and connected training offers have been so far unexplored in the important context of welfare and health systems in evolution. In Europe seniors, and particularly elderly people ( 60/80 years old), are a growing component of the population and increasing budget constraints of health services require new itineraries. This book then focuses on an innovative approach to caregivers´ training in the home health care field, with impacts on: a) stronger valorisation of individual potential and existing skills; b) promotion of complementary training modules; c) aspects of social security, in order to enable migrant caregivers to acquire competences such as active citizenship.
