There are more than 240,000 Chinese living in Spain, and the composition of Chinese community in Spain has become increasingly variegated either in terms of place of origin or of educational and socioeconomic backgrounds. While more and more recent new immigrants arrive in Spain, the second or subsequent generations of the eldest first generation immigrants have started to assume responsibility and play the role of mainstay of the ethnic community. What is it like to be a memeber of such an expanding and complex Chinese immigrant community in Spain? What difficulties do they meet living in a multicultural country like Spain? What changes have they undergone living as an ethnic in Spain? and what strategies have they adopted to solve adaptation problems?
