Michael Chabons Großvater war Setzer und arbeitete in einer New Yorker Firma, in der unter anderem Comic-Hefte gedruckt wurden. Chabon wurde 1963 in Washington DC geboren und wuchs in Columbia, Maryland auf. Seine Arbeiten erschienen im New Yorker, Harper´s, GQ, Esquire und Playboy und zahlreichen Anthologien. Michael Chabon lebt heute mit seiner Frau und seinen Kindern in Berkeley.
