Donations and sustainability always have been a subject of huge concern for non-profit leaders. Understanding the motivations of donor behaviour seems crucial to increasing pledges and loyalty and private donations have become one of the most widely researched topics in the funding of charities. Madalena E‡a de Abreu is professor of marketing and management at ISCAC Coimbra Business School. She is director of the Marketing and International Business Undergraduate Program, is a visiting scholar at Universities, and a consultant and trainee in the charity sector. Her work includes non-profit marketing, fundraising, and volunteering.
