The problem of manual scavenging needs immediate attention from the government, social activists as well as from each and every single member of the society. In this Book, authors have address the issues and challenges attached with the problem of manual scavenging. Proper and effective solutions to tackle this issue can be identified only when the main challenges of a problem is identified. Also the prevailing statutory and administrative policy for eradicating this evil practice needs to be considered. This book also analyses the active role played by the Indian judiciary identifying and highlighting the apathy and plight of the disadvantaged sections of the society. Last, but not the least, formulating a set of recommended solutions in addressing the issue of manual scavenging makes a study useful for the society.
