This book is a thorough sociological perspective of the contemporary rural Turkey. Historical background of the country is also included to the extent necessary for understanding the social structure. Sinan €aya had his lycée and undergraduate and MBA education in Istanbul. His two Ph.D degrees are from Hacettepe and METU in Ankara. €aya speaks, reads and writes English; he reads French and German. He is giving social courses at Marmara and Bogazi‡i universities in Istanbul.
