This story is for women and men who are in marriages with no one to confine in except God, women who went into marriage hoping to have the peace and love displayed by older couples. Marriage from the onset is not easy and smooth. It is also for young women and men who want to get married but have difficulty accepting their spouses for who they are, manipulating and trying to change them without looking to God who is the change agent. Ezanya discovered only when she could love herself and not depend totally on her husband could she find the peace and love she thought he could give her. She also discovered that being financially strong and not dependent on her husband gave her the confidence to challenge him when she felt he was not taking his role as a father and husband seriously. Only when she was confident enough to know that she had an option to walk out if not treated well did her husband begin to take notice of her strengths as a woman, wife and a mother.
Iyaiya Thomas holds a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Change from Leedsbeckett University, London. She is originally from Nigeria but presently resides in Blantyre, Malawi with her husband and three children. Her hobbies are reading, writing and hand made craft with beads.
