A spectacular and controversial phenomenon of the Hungarian political life following the change of regime is the appearance and operation of paramilitary organizations. The present volume, presenting an existing organization, not independent of historical traditions, has been created on information gathered by interdisciplinary (sociological, ethnographical, anthropological) methods - and as part of a larger EU research. This volume could prove to be of use and informative for both experts and a wider circle of readers.

Dr. Istvan Muranyi is associate professor of the University Debrecen.His personal research interest cover sociology of youth, political socialisation, national identity and prejudice. He has extensive experience of managing collaboration in a number of EU-funded projects. He has published ten books and more than 100 articles and book chapters.
