Tribocharging is an idiosyncratic process to impose a charge on the material surface through contact. This book introduces the fundamental research and progress on particle tribocharging theory and mechanism. An innovative method was proposed for the particle charge, especially weak charge, measurement. The factors influencing the material tribocharging efficiencies were quantified through experimental method. A semi-empirical model was established to present material tribocharging characteristics. Probability theory was introduced to explain the particles tribocharging features, which was realized through direct experimental methods. The particle-particle tribocharging effect was then indirectly quantified based on the particles´ charge density distributions variation. This research study contributes to a better understanding of tribocharging mechanism. More extensive applications of the tribocharging technique are possible that extend beyond exiting regions.
Jinxiang Chen is a Ph.D. graduate from mining engineering of the University of Kentucky. He has committed to the fundamental study of tribocharging theory and mechanisms. As an engineer, he also focused on the application of tribocharging theory in mineral processing.
