The last time on the world most popular method waste management have been disposal landfill. At present in accordance with the law a landfill is a construction designed to dispose waste and from the technological point of view disposal is a process of depositing waste to reduce its impact on natural environment and people, which should be carried out in a controlled manner. Consequently, waste disposal poses a ´potential´ threat to the environment. Talking above into consideration in many country on the world waste management is according the baste available technology- MBT (mechanical- biological treatment before disposal) . It is worth mentioning that MBT is widely applied in Europe. It seems that at present, a significant number of MBT facilities are being built, developed and modernized. This technology has many advantages and is environmentally friendly. Katarzyna Kulhawik has graduated from 5- year master´s degree studies in the field of Environmental Protection of Poznan University in Poland. She so much interested in environmental protection that she has started postgraduate extramural studies (doctoral). Besides scientific activity she train workers in the field of waste management.
