Hernán Rivera Letelier nació en Talca, 1950. Su novela La Reina Isabel cantaba rancheras fue premiada por el Consejo Nacional del Libro y la Lectura en 1994, y es una de las obras literarias de más vasta difusión de la narrativa chilena reciente.
