Increasing industrialization, poor waste management and economic activities have contributed significantly to rising environmental pollution in recent time. The book studied the heavy metal distribution in soil samples using Nigerian ports Authority, Apapa and residential area of Victoria Island Lagos as a case study. The speciation pattern, mobility and quantification of total and potentially bioavailable heavy metal concentrations in the soil of Apapa Wharf and Victoria Island, Lagos studied showed that The proportion of the mean metal concentrations of the bio-available metals follows the order Ni Cr Cu Pb Co Mn Zn Fe Cd for Apapa wharf; and Cr Ni Cu Zn Pb Mn Co Fe Cd for Victoria Island. From the trend, it is evident that the results revealed that iron though with the highest concentration at both locations, is the second to the least bioavailable metal in the locations, about 32% was found in its bio-available form.
