1969 – 2019 : 50ème anniversaire l´alunissage de capsule américaine Apollo 11 !

La Kunsthaus de Zurich présente, avec Cathérine Hug au commissariat, une grande exposition à l´occasion du 50 ème anniversaire des premiers pas de l´homme sur la lune en 1969. L´alunissage de la capsule américaine Apollo 11 a modifié le rapport de l´homme à l´univers et à son environnement. Le premier regard extérieur sur le globe terrestre a été rapidement suivi d´une prise de conscience nouvelle pour la fragilité de notre planète et les menaces existentielles que représentent les interventions humaines. Ce discours, plus actuel que jamais, n´est cependant pas le seul axe thématique de l´exposition et du catalogue richement illustré, qui, bien plus, s´intéressent au mystère qui a fasciné toutes les cultures du monde depuis le 19 ème siècle et continue de le faire. Le tour d´horizon historique du regard des artistes sur la lune comprend des sujets et des aspects tels que " cartographie céleste et surface de la lune ", " maladies lunatiques ", " colonisation de la lune " ou " fusées et véhicules lunaires ".

1969 -2019: The Moon Landing: 50 years on!

Kunsthaus Zürich presents a large exhibition curated by Cathérine Hug commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing in 1969. The Moon landing of the US-American Apollo 11 space capsule altered our relation-ship to space and our environment. The view of Earth from space gave rise to a new awareness of the fragility of our planet and the threats posed by human´s existential inter-ventions. This discourse, though more topical than ever, is not the only thematic focus; on the contrary, the exhibition and the richly illustrated catalogue seek to address this enduring mystery that continues to fascinate all cultures of the world, from the 19th century to the present. The journey through the -history of artistic exploration of the Moon in-cludes topics such as "Celestial cartography and lunar -topography", "Ailments associated with the Moon", "Moon light and -shadows", the "Colonization of the Moon" and "Rockets and Moon vehicles"!
